This year, WEB2000, the conference designed by web professionals for web professionals, focused on the critical need for web professionals to combine their technical expertise with business know-how. Each day of this five-day conference had a different theme including: core competencies, standards and best practices, tools and techniques, and emerging technologies. The three-day exposition featured start-ups as well as industry leaders including Adobe, Macromedia, IBM and Intel.

Unleashed Media™ created quite a "buzz" while visiting vendors at the expo, "unleashing the power" of creative marketing with afro hairstyles, flower patterned bell bottoms, and sun glasses. The question from their marketing campaign was "Who's developing your website?", their costumes made you think twice about the answer.

WEB2000 offered professionals the chance to spend time socializing with peers, sharing ideas and inspiring each other through a slew of networking events taking place during the show as well as after hours. These events included an interactive online lounge, an online competitive game called WEB2000 BrainTeaser, a competition to redesign a non-profit's site in a day and the Web Techniques Web Tools Awards. At night, Birds of a Feather social events took place at different venues around San Francisco and the yearly WEB2000 conference party.
